Ticket Riot Kills Twelve
Downtown Seattle is in shambles today after a late night riot at Shiawase Center. Huge crowds had gathered to purchase Excrement tickets in person and were swept up in the turmoil when hundreds were denied. The in-person-only sales were billed as an attempt to ensure that “the people” had opportunity to purchase tickets rather than primarily Matrix-based scalpers. However, “Sold Out” signs appeared very early in the evening, and angry fans assaulting the box office in rage.
Lone Star Police Services responded to the scene with heavily armed riot officers. Within minutes gunshots were fired and over the course of several hours, a number of rioters were killed. Despite Lone Star claims that their officers used minimal force, several trideo recordings of SWAT-style assault tactics, including grenades and shotguns, have surfaced. At least four of the victims were killed by Lone Star’s “non-lethal” Stick-n-Shock™ rounds. Vocal critics of the Texas-based corporation have once again called for the City to review it’s contract with the organization. There have been several incidents excessive force and mismanagement over the past several months.
City officials state that the cost of the damage is still being tallied, but may reach into the hundreds of millions of nuyen.
